Dental Implants

Considering Dental Implants?

  • A Permanent Replacement For Missing Teeth

Dental implants are an excellent option for replacing missing teeth. Whether it’s due to injury, decay, or another cause, losing a tooth can affect not only your smile but also your ability to eat and maintain good oral health.

Unlike dentures or partials, dental implants provide a secure, permanent solution. You won’t have to worry about slippage or discomfort during meals or while socializing. Plus, caring for them is as simple as taking care of your natural teeth—regular brushing, flossing, and routine dental checkups.

Another key advantage of dental implants is that they don’t require alteration of your healthy surrounding teeth. In fact, you can use an implant to support a dental bridge without affecting your natural teeth, offering a more conservative and lasting treatment approach.

  • Why Do I Need To Replace Missing Teeth?

While some people view missing teeth as a purely cosmetic issue, it can actually affect more than just your smile. Missing teeth can place extra pressure on the remaining teeth, leading to further damage. Additionally, it can make eating certain foods more difficult or even painful, impacting your nutrition.

When teeth are lost, the bone in the jaw may begin to deteriorate, which can cause the face to appear sunken over time. Dental implants help prevent bone loss and restore both function and aesthetics to your smile.

  • Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?

Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?

Most healthy adults are candidates for dental implants. However, certain health conditions may affect the success of the procedure. A thorough evaluation will help determine if you have sufficient bone for the implants, if you’re healthy enough for the procedure, and whether implants are the right option for you.

  • How Are Dental Implants Placed?

Before we begin, we’ll perform a comprehensive exam, including x-rays, to assess the condition of your jawbone. Because dental implants are anchored directly into the bone, it's essential to ensure there’s enough healthy bone structure. If necessary, additional procedures such as bone grafts or sinus lifts can help prepare the area for implant placement.

Once we’re ready, the titanium posts for the implants are placed into your jawbone. After you’ve had time to heal, we’ll fit you with a temporary crown while your permanent one is crafted at the dental lab. When the permanent crown is ready, we’ll place it and make sure it fits and looks just right. Your dental implant procedure will be complete, restoring both form and function to your smile.
